Spider Dreams

I've got to stop having scary spider dreams! If not for my own sake, for Vic's. A couple years ago, I scared ten years off his life by waking up screaming in the dead of night after a spider dream. If only that was the worst that's happened...

Last night around 2 am, I was looking over at him and saw a spider crawling over the top of his head and down his forehead. It was large but with a small body, like a daddy long legs, but as I watched in horror, I saw it get even larger. So, being a good wife, I overcame my instinctive fear and quickly took action by grabbing the blanket and hitting him over the head with it to kill the spider before it could harm him.

From Vic's point of view, I imagine it was disconcerting to wake up to his wife beating him up for no apparent reason. I turned on the light, looking around for the spider while he asked me what the hell I was doing. I quickly explained but there was no live spider, not even a corpse, to back up my story. We finally determined that it must have been a dream, but it still took me awhile to really convince myself enough to lie back down among the bedding and go back to sleep.

Pretty soon, Vic's going to put his foot down and start sleeping separately, I know it. I can't say I'd blame him, as the consequences of my scary spider dreams seem to be escalating for him.

I have thought and thought on this one, and I can't come up with anything, other than the common knowledge I have had all along which is: You're a friggin nutcase.

Maybe one day, Vic will grab an encyclopedia, and wake you up with a thud on your head, and tell you he was just trying to remove a really scare big bad spider from your head while you were sleeping.

Well that would hurt if he did, but I don't know that I'd necessarily blame him....once the lump subsided.

CONGRATULATIONS BECKS, UR DAUGHTER IS BEAUTIFUL. HOWEVER, ONCE UR MOM GETS THERE SHE WILL HAVE TO ENDURE THE HUGS FROM A FAUX QUEEN. MUCH LOVE

Thanks Barb :) She is just the best thing ever! Of course that is easy to say when she spends most of her time sleeping lol.

You know, she'll be able to tolerate the cuddles of the faux queen pretty well, since she hasn't yet experienced the awesomeness of true royalty. And if you tell my mom I said that, I will deny, deny, deny ;)

Becky,
You do realize that mom does read your blogs right??? and secondly...all this time on the computer and no interesting things in your new motherhood to blog about, so that us experienced parents can snicker at you, despite having had the same feelings when we were new at the game?

She doesn't read them THAT often :b and between the near-constant nursings of growth spurts and colicky behavior, I'm busy!

And yet took the time and care to answer my comment...hmmm, busy, or excuse laden and selfish?

I report, you deride!

Don't feel bad. I have had spider dreams for the past 3 years. I wake up, turn on the lights, throw off the blankets...etc. I am not sure what causes them but I feel like a nutcase as well
